It’s No Yolk: Morning Edition

“It’s No Yolk: Mexicans Cope With Egg Shortage, Price Spikes” uses sound really well.  Mexicans eat a lot of eggs, so when millions of hens had to be killed in Jalisco after an outbreak of Avian flu last year, it led to an egg shortage.  Carrie Kahn goes to a diner and speaks to a patron.  In the background, you can hear the sounds of breakfast cooking on a diner’s grill, and the sound of people talking.  It makes you feel like you’r sitting in a corner booth talking to Pedro.  Later, when she talks to egg vendors, you hear the sounds of cartons being opened and unloaded.

Unfortunately, there’s no background sounds to accompany the huevos jokes she talks about.
